Aheste is a modern delicatessen restaurant, opened its first branch in one of the most famous street in Galata- Serdar-ı Ekrem in 2013, and that has been the favourite of the city at a glance. Aheste Pera, to be opened as a second branch, is located in the most historical street called Meşrutiyet Street. Since 16th century, Mesrutiyet Street, with its hosting the consulate and the ambassy buildings, has run for the international and the diplomacy people. At the end of the 1800s, locating the “Büyük Londra” and “Pera Palas” hotels, has caused to open famous and historical hotels in the locale, and also to increase the historical value and the circulation.
Designed by Archive+LAB, the interior decoration of Aheste Pera came alive with the combination of the historical frame and the modern architecture of the district. Generating the structural specialities such as the fire bricks of the civic building, this project highlights the brass modules used as the organic forms. At the same time, these modules functions as the modern skin inside a historical place. Coming alive on the fire brick walls of the restaurant and surrounding the bar, this 3D brass module is referred in different details and the fixed furnitures of the venue.
From the outstanding details for the venue lighting, there has built a warm and dynamic atmosphere in combination of the oval form wooden drooping lighting by Archive+LAB’s product design and in the hidden lightings and the brass droopings on the ottoman sofas.
The graffiti art on both sides of the wall all along in the restaurant, is another reference for the relationship between the historical structure of the building and modern architecture. Sytnhesized with a balanced touch of the historical structure and the modern, the venue represents a restaurant experience in a superior integrated art, design, and taste for its clients.
